About me
Karolina Galinauskaitė (b. 1998) is a visual artist living and working in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 2021, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Site-Specific Art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, having also refined her practice at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in Prague (Department of Painting) during 2020–2021.
Karolina actively creates paintings, mural art, and other creative projects, hosts painting workshops and art classes, and participates in exhibitions and competitions.
In her creative practice, the artist focuses on themes of nature, existence, and the relationship between humanity and its environment. Rooted in the exploration of humanity, her work reveals moments of vulnerability and self-reflection. Throughout her process, Galinauskaitė examines the contrast between rigid, intentional structures and fluid, organic shapes, spills, and distorted motifs.
Working across diverse media, her practice ranges from painting to light and site-specific art installations. She is a two-time finalist at the Zabolis Art Prize exhibitions (2024, 2026), and her artwork was featured on the cover of the cultural magazine Literatūra ir menas (April 2026 issue). Her installations have been showcased at the Vilnius Light Festival and the international Pokoje 2020 competition in Prague, alongside her ongoing mural art projects across Lithuania.
